Welcome to Talk to sal

A safe & confidential online platform where Young People can access Support, Advice & Live chat with SAL practitioners.

Talk to SAL is a new service that has been designed to support young people in Stoke on Trent and the surrounding areas. An important part of that is working to support the trusted adults in young people’s lives.

This new confidential service provides a range of online support including; anonymous live chat, advise & information about healthy relationships, consent, staying safe online. peer pressure, gender & sexuality as well as additional practical support, signposting, resources and more.

SAL is part of Savana’s CYP service.

What can I chat about?

You can chat to us about anything that may be on your mind. Here’s some examples:

Concerns about a child or young person

You can chat with us if you are concerned about a child or young person or their behaviour.

Supporting a child or young person

You can chat to us about different ways in which you can support a child or young person, whether they have experienced trauma, are in a challenging relationship (this could be with friends or family) or are exploring /struggling with their gender identity/sexuality.

Accessing support for yourself

Whether you are supporting a young person through a traumatic event or through normal childhood experiences such as exploring identity, sex and relationships, it can be overwhelming. That’s why we welcome parents and carers to chat with us about support and self-care for yourself.

Open forum - how can we create better online safe spaces for young people?

Open to all members of the LQBTQIA+ community within the Stoke & Staffordshire area.

Drop in anonymously and share your thoughts & ideas on how services can better represent and support your community.

Parent & Carer support launch event

Support for parents & carers. Whether you look after a child who is currently accessing support, have concerns about a young person or just need some support, you can come along to chat to one of our practitioners or look for some helpful resources and information.
